Over the past few decades, any architecture which in some way responded to its surroundings began to be called solar, vernacular, sustainable, natural, bionic, healthy etc. But these are only partial definitions of what this architecture really is.
The term 'Bioclimatic' comes from the fashion of giving a name to the natural human attitude of trying to reach something more than just a relation between architecture and climate, like for example the influence that different materials have on our organism, the lighting or the different electromagnetic fields.
Building traditions point us to many of the strategies which we should use in order to obtain a cheaper and healthier architecture. Perhaps a more accurate definition would be "evolved traditional architecture".
